Jeff often describes his life as a “real-life game of Plinko.” Growing up in Kansas City in a baseball family, seeds of childhood dreams of one day playing in the Major Leagues were planted early.
Upon graduating in 1997 from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, life was lining up for Jeff to realize his dream. However, after 4 years playing Minor League Baseball in the Phillies organization, the Plinko chip turned a “hard left”.
After being released in baseball, he pursued a career in business, gaining experience in Information Technology, management, and corporate client services as well as earning a Master of Business Administration from Baker University in 2003.
Parallel to this career path was another path of providence. In 1987, God graciously took the Pharisaical blinders off of Jeff’s heart and replaced his heart of stone with a heart of flesh. The immediate fruit of such a transformation was a genuine hunger for God’s Word – a flame that was fanned by teachers and authors such as John Piper, John MacArthur, and R.C. Sproul.
As this hunger and flame increased, the career Plinko chip took a hard right turn – as Jeff
responded to the clear call on his life to pursue a seminary degree at The Master’s Seminary in Sun Valley, California. Upon completing his M.Div. from Master’s, Jeff was accepted into the Harvest Bible Fellowship Training Center, founded by James MacDonald, in Elgin, Illinois.
In 2010, God providentially rested the Plinko chip with a miraculous unfolding of His plan as Harvest Bible Chapel was launched.
Jeff and his wife, Sally, were married in 1998. Both were raised in the Kansas City area. With a love for the people and community of Kansas City, they are excited to see lives transformed by the work of Christ through the power of His Word. They have three daughters: Meg, Mallory, and Macy.
