Okay…let’s chat. So, I’ve enjoyed hearing some great “fast” stories of God’s provision, people seeing God’s hand working in amazing ways, and testimonies of people being stretched spiritually, emotionally, and physically. But, I am starting to hear some frustration. For many of you, this may be your first extended fast. So, you made it to Day Three…praise the Lord! Last night I was tossing out one of my girl’s remaining scraps of a cheese burrito. So, you have made it through day one? Praise the Lord! Now, perhaps, reality is setting in. The stomach is growling. Your body is starting to say, “Hey! Fasting is a discipline that – until the last couple years – was not even on my radar. I knew it was in the Bible. I had done it a couple times in the past. For the most part, to me, it was what Christian extremist and wackos did…taking narratives from the Bible like Moses (Deuteronomy 9:9), Elijah (1 Kings 19:8), and Christ (Matthew 4) and making them prescription.
